How we write

SecurityReport.io1 min read

A SecurityReport.io guide answers a buying or compliance decision for a small team. It names the tool, the price, and the control it does or does not cover.

What "we tested" means

Hands-on findings are labeled as hands-on. That includes a product we installed, a restore we ran, or a scan we executed.

Everything else is documentation-based: vendor docs, the regulation or framework text, and published pricing. A configuration guide, a control mapping, or a description of what a product looks like set up for a 12-person office is useful without a year of production use, and it is labeled that way.

We do not describe a trial we have not run as if we had.

Prices and dates

Prices, plan names, and program terms change. Each guide carries a published date, and a substantive revision gets an updated date. Treat a figure as true as of that date, and check the vendor before you buy.

What we will not do

We do not bid on a vendor's trademarks in paid search. We do not create accounts on a reader's behalf or sign up for a product in order to collect our own commission.
